Additional extensions may depend upon the system having spare capacity and in order to check that, a visit will be required.
We have many years of experience with telephone wiring distribution within premises and so long as there is spare capacity we will use it. If new wiring is required along corridors we can use trunking or false ceilings to conceal the wiring as far as possible.
Unfortunately not all telephone switches work in the same way and if telephone switch administration is required we may have to call on colleagues for additional assistance. If you need any additional work or maintenance on your telephone switch please specify the make and model of your switch and the type of extensions.
We work in conjunction with installers of telephone systems and between us we can offer expertise on your existing telephone system. Or when your system is becoming unreliable through age we can make recommendations on a new telephone system for you. Between us we can cover problems and installations for all switches that exist. So please ring us if you'd like to discuss expanding, maintaining or replacing your system on 0800 612 8410.
There are measures that can be taken to ensure that all of your office space can have a decent Wi-Fi signal using Wireless Access Points which are relatively inexpensive units and which have to be wired direct from the location of your router.
A simple App that you can get for a smart phone known as 'Wi-Fi Analyser' can illustrate to you why you are having difficulties in various parts of your office or home. If the signal falls below -70dB then you will have trouble logging in and at best will have an interrupted service.
We have experimented with Powerline adapters and they do have their merits when a client doesn't want to have wires on the exterior or interior of their building, but feel there is nothing better than a cabled solution for linking to the source router.
More recently we have been asked to extend a network to a garden office which these days is not unusual, with more people working from home. This can be achieved using two pieces of equipment known collectively as a bridge which work on line of sight (anything up to 2 kilometers) to provide a link in a data network. In this case they were used to power a PC which would work simultaneously at the remote location.
The two pictures below are of a typical installation of this type that we have completed, they show a link between the office at the rear of a building where the Router was located across a gap of 20 metres to the main building where another office was located. This allowed us to connect the router to a Wireless Access Point in the main building to allow Wi-Fi access in both buildings. If you can see this as the solution to a problem of yours give us a call on 0800 612 8410.
We have been instrumental in providing Wi-Fi on several static caravan parks where external weatherproofed equipment is used to provide blanket coverage of the whole site. Wi-Fi bridges as above are used to send the internet signal around the park, between buildings or between locations up to a couple of miles away. Give us a call on 0800 612 8410 if you want to offer your customers the convenience of Wi-Fi.
If you have large industrial premises or a farm yard and need to be able to hear the phone ringing then we can help you by coming to your site and installing a loud bell for you.
Alternatively, if you are quite confident that you can install the bell and you have a suitable working telephone extension socket available then we can attach a suitable length of cable onto a bell and send you a plug-in kit. You would only have to screw the bell to the wall and plug it into a phone socket. We can also supply a suitable quantity of cable fixings to fix the wire in place.
Besides those bells there is a vast variety of mains powered bells that we can supply, including flashing lights and sirens. If you are interested in a bell then please ring on 0800 612 8410 and tell us what your requirements are.
Closed circuit TV is a new venture for All Mod Comms, we have some experience having attended training courses at Videcon in Leeds for Analog and IP CCTV systems.
We have since installed two analogue systems which worked first time. CCTV cabling is similar to telephone cabling and otherwise the equipment is not overly complicated.
All systems have the ability for you to monitor your cameras remotely using a Smart phone and allow email alerting should any alarms be raised. Should you require an IP system please get in touch with us as we have the expertise to offer those as well.
Some of the premises that we visit are remote and they have very slow broadband because of this. Depending upon location there are several solutions:
The first solution involves sending fast broadband via local aerials on masts which are usually located on high ground.
In the next solution fast broadband is also available but by satellite to an aerial located high up on your property.
Lastly fast broadband is available via 4G mobile signals. It may not be at very great strength on the ground but to an aerial high up on the side of a house it may be a perfect signal.
None of these services are guaranteed to work but each provider would do their own survey to check that.
Broadband is the vital link to bring the internet to businesses.
If you have a concern about your Broadband speed please use the link to a checker below to establish what speed you can get. Please bear in mind that your speed varies throughout the day depending upon who else on your ISP is using it at the time, for instance children have just all returned from school.
ADSL fault finding
We are now equipped with a VONAQ QUICKTEST 100 ADSL2+ tester which reads the Up and Downstream line parameters, such as Max Bit rate, Interleaved Bit rate, Signal to Noise Margin, Power and Attenuation.
These readings as well as comparison between connection speeds at various points on your telephone system, can be helpful in diagnosing problems. Testing at the BT test point in the 'master socket' should ensure that you are testing out on the BT line, without any thing else being connected. We have known this not to be the case in some installations, which have had extensions or alarms added prior to the 'test socket'.
Assuming that there are no other influences on the line at the 'BT Test Socket', that should be the fastest speed that your line is capable of. If it differs drastically from the speed that you are getting wherever you are connecting your Modem or Router, then there is a problem with your household wiring. Once we have downloaded that information to the tester we can send it to a PC and produce reports if necessary.
The diagnosis often is that the internal wiring is causing the loss in speed and will need to be replaced if you need all of those sockets.
Internal wiring problems, especially where the wiring is hidden under floor boards or within walls, are very time consuming to resolve. The better way is simply to run new wiring. If you think we can help you please give us a call on 0800 612 8410 or use the 'contact us' page.
If you haven't yet heard of VOIP it is a method of receiving and making exchange line calls with phones plugged into your router.
It is possible to select the new telephone number and exchange area of the lines delivered to you and it is entirely up to you where in the country or abroad you set up your offices.
These lines can be configured and installed at short notice which beats waiting a fortnight for engineer with a reel of cable. There is considerable convenience not having to rely on your Telecoms supplier to install analog or digital telephone lines but unless you have confidence in the reliability of your internet or have a suitable fall back position just in case you have problems with it, you could also cause your business some problems if you become entirely dependent upon VOIP.
A client of ours had exactly those sort of problems during lightning storms which blew his router to bits.
We have experience in this area as some trunk services on Avaya Definity switches are VOIP hosted and we have a current association with a National Company that offers VOIP lines at advantageous rates.

The best way to ensure consistent network accessibility around your office.
We have experience installing Cat 5e cable while we were employed by BT so have experience of flood wiring office blocks, terminating patch panels, terminating Cat 5e sockets, Krone terminations and have since had to run Cat5e in call centres.
It is the best way to ensure consistent network accessibility around your office where some wireless signals will not penetrate the walls or just do not give the speed of connection.
Network Switches are used to distribute a network connection to multiples of network cables around an office. This gives all users the same access.
