I received an urgent call from the owner of the Gillygate Guest House as the builders who were in the process of converting one of the rooms had replaced a window but at the same time they had severed the telephone line into the property. Consequently the internet connection was down for guests and so was the telephone line for incoming bookings. I was happy to arrange to pop in the following day before the builders turned up, so that we didn't get in each other’s way. The line was still on the box where it had originally come into the premises but the cable between there and the office had been severed. So I simply ran a few metres of cable and connected it all up again and service was restored. Just to make sure everything was working again we undiverted the phone line and tested everything.
If you're a builder or a landlord and you get in a fix with a telephone line, give me a call on 0800 612 8410 and I'll come and get you back up and running again, if I’m not local to you I’ll find an ex-BT engineer who can help in your area.
